Watkin Path, Snowdon

We tried to hike Watkin Path up Mount Snowdon.  Unfortunately we made it about halfway before the rain drove us back down.  It was great to hike with the family on a path named for a distant relative.  I was telling Kaitlyn on the way down the path that I would not be surprised if the Shire in Lord of the Rings was inspired by Wales.  It is that green.  As I am typing this, I just saw the sun for the first time since leaving Ireland.  Not that we saw it much in Ireland, but it has been a Seattle like rain since we arrived in Wales.  I don't know if the attached pictures can do it justice, but I am sure everybody will be impressed by the greenery.  I hope to get to the top of Snowdon tomorrow, weather permitting.  We can always take the train to the top, but if the weather is still like it is, we won't see anything.  The pictures below are just a small sampling of the pictures I have taken.

A big goat we saw on the way down the trail.

Love this picture.  My Kaitlyn looks very pretty.

  1. No surprise that within days of your arrival, one of the worst riots in the history of England breaks out. From what I can gather on CNN they are calling it Watkins 2009 Christmas party all over again"

  2. That is classic. The riots are over thank God. We were sweating it. One more night in Wales then we head to Manchester.
