Saturday and Sunday pretty much ran together. Between travel and trying to get a full day of touring in pretty much wiped everybody out. One of the funnier stories happened after my last post. Everybody was taking a nap as I said in my earlier post so I went out for a Guinness or three. I walked into the Brazen Head Pub, founded 1198, Ireland's oldest pub. Incredible pub, but I was surprised that 20% of the bar patrons were on vacation from California. Ended up having a couple stouts with a guy from Orange County and a couple from Rancho Penasquitos. My Pastor would be happy that someone else was wearing their Cal Bear shirt in the pub. I actually forgot my camera (shocking to those who know me), but we know have the farthest advertising from SoCal for Watkins Landmark Construction. One section of the bar is filled with US dollars stapled to the wall that have phrases written on them. I had a one on me and wrote "WATKINS LANDMARK CONSTRUCTION" on it. It now hangs with pride in the Brazen Head.
Schedule for the second day will be Christ Church Cathedral, St. Patrick's Cathedral, dinner and tour at the Guinness Storehouse, Bus Tour and Dublin Art Muesem. I don't think we can get it all, but Guinness takes priority. Here are some of the other pictures from our first day in Dublin. There are tons of similarities between Dublin and Seattle, weather included. Interesting that I am drawn to both cities.
